Three national polls came out today, all snapshot, and all three show Obama essentially up 7-8%... That would mean that Obama's national lead is increasing a bit from the June median of 5-6%...
However, lets what the Media do backflips to try and explain away this good news for Obama...

"Sen. Barack Obama's national lead is solid - but it's not monolithic," said Maurice Carroll, director of the Quinnipiac University Polling Institute.
"His support in the black community is about as close to unanimous as you can get. Politicians say that the only uncertainty will be turnout. Sen. John McCain leads among white voters.
"As is usually the case, the outcome probably will be decided in the middle, among the independent voters, who are evenly split at this point."
SOLID, I like that word... And I'd say that Obama's lead is infact SOLID and Growing, despite some really strong efforts to indicate otherwise. I mean, this is Hall of Fame Bullshit from Newsweek.
And a Quote of the Day from Robert Gibbs:
For the Second Day In A Row, McCain Refers to Czechoslovakia – A Country That No Longer Exists. As MSNBC noted, "For the second time in two days, McCain has made a reference to ‘Czechoslovakia.’ His answers were about contemporary events, not history. McCain did not use the current name Czech Republic, the country formed in January 1993 when Czechoslovakia split into the Czech Republic and Slovakia. The first instance was yesterday during a media news availability and the second today during a town hall meeting."
Is that Offense I smell?
